Kosran Safe Access Control System shortlisted

The International Awards for Powered Access (IAPA) shortlisted Kosran for its “Contribution to Safe Working at Height”.

The awards were presented on 3rd April in the Beaumont Estate Hotel in Windsor near London.

Kosran Safe Access Control (SAC) system was specifically designed and developed to prevent unauthorised use of access equipment on job sites. The first generation product was recently shortlisted for the Contribution to Safe Working at Height category at the International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs).

The judges stated that ‘This equipment is a vital part of the industry and its future. Kosran is making the market safer and more accountable’.

Patrick Sheeran, who owns the SAC technology, has already designed the next generation system, said: “Being shortlisted for an IAPA was a wonderful recognition of our past achievements - however we have already moved on and are ready to productionise our next generation, game-changing Safe Access Control technology for MEWPs, which has real global marketability.”

Kosran SAC is the only technology on the market that provides remote control over both the aerial work platform and who can operate it. The first-gen system won plaudits from customers including Nationwide Platforms, who promote it under their own SkySentry brand; and BAM Nuttall, which has fitted Kosran SAC to its entire mobile crane fleet.
The IAPA programme published these comments:

“The Kosran Safety Access Control (SAC) system is designed to deliver best practice health and safety on job sites by controlling access to aerial lifts and securely shutting them down when not in use.

The Kosran SAC prevents the unauthorised use of MEWPs and is designed to prevent fatalities, serious personal injuries, machine damage and downtime. It also provides a menu of benefits which reduces the daily operational cost of running a fleet, so the technology pays for itself. It can be retrofitted to all MEWPs.
